Summer’s (almost) gone
When I started writing this post, it was the third day of October (as the dashboard of the site is reminding me…), a lovely and still warm month at our side of the pond, thus the title “summer’s almost gone”, which is a phrase that one can do nothing else but sing (remember the song by the Doors? Yep, exactly this). And on that third day of October, this post was never written, but stayed as a draft, giving its place to autumn’s hectic schedule along with the bitter taste of diminishing light and cooler nights.
But today, the ninth day of November -I pause here and whisper: oh, my, time goes fast and as I’m writing this, I have to keep myself from asking you to sing yet another beloved song,-
ok, I’m going on, so, today, a bright sun shining day, I told myself that it’s been way too long since the last time I wrote something in here and if I wait just a tad longer, then it’ll just be funny to post summer photos, if it’s not already.
I’ve decided it’s not. And here I am, hello lovelies, sorry for being away so long.
This summer has been beautiful, refreshing, had lots of mountain stuff and agricultural experiences for the little Ladies of the Pond and their friends
and also had magnificent sunsets
and whole loads of sea and sand and cruel sun, the sun that I cannot live without 🙂
and exploding splashes into the sea
and bright colors all around us
and white linen dresses paired with flat leather sandals
and yet more sea and beaches and sea, sea, sea
and sea caves where the waters had the most amazing blue that you’ve ever seen
and, most important, this summer had a lot of free time to spend with the little Ladies, doing nothing or just anything
And yes, it also had a little bit of crochet (just a little bit), by either wearing my green green grass of home shawl
or by actually crocheting yet another shawl, present for a dear friend
Soon after summer holidays were over, Mr. BeardMan and myself took a short trip to magnificent Venice in Italy and I really promise you that I’ll write a separate post about this, soon, really, soon enough, I promise you this 🙂
Hope that November’s treating all of you with its best
Froggy kisses from the pond,
Nora
