Crochet goodies (or my dream of a job)
I love making baby and kids stuff with yarn and hooks. That’s a firm statement of mine. From blankets to cuddly cushions and from garlands to the cutest amigurumis, it’s been years now that I make crochet goodies and give them as presents to people I love.
When I’ve started my journey into the creative world of crochet, my girls were not babies anymore and thus there was little enthusiasm from their side. Naturally, they’ve ordered a couple of plush amigurumis and some cushions for their beds, but that was all. At the same time, most of my friends were just starting to build their own families and having babies, so it wasn’t difficult for me to find the perfect audience for my “Hugs are Handmade” core philosophy.
Cause, dear friends, this is exactly what drives me to do this. Cherry Frog’s dream is that kids grow up in an environment as natural and human as possible, away from the flat aesthetics and the questionable ethics of mass produced baby and kids products and toys. Cherry Frog loves seeing babies covered with handmade soft blankets, kids hopping onto colorful cuddly cushions and hugging crocheted plush toys, Cherry Frog loves the handstiched mobiles above the baby cribs and the bright garlands hanging around the kids rooms, loves every single thread popping out their edges and every single natural imperfection of theirs. Cherry Frog frowns at plastic toys and is terribly bored by identical items stacked into uniform piles.
So, I invite you to take a look at the new page of my blog. It’s just photos of what I’ve made during the last year or, another way, just photos of what inspires me to get up every day.
And, as almost all of us who are friends in this creative corner of the web, I’d love to turn this love to a job one day.
Until then, I hope you enjoy.
