Wet December days
It’s a strange December~ Very wet but not that cold until yesterday. Mornings I wear my distressed biker boots, the ones I’ve bought during a recent trip in the US, the ones I’ve fallen in love the very first moment I saw them 😉 and dive into the wet grass with no fear and no regrets.
The result of the weather being rather wet but not cold is that flowers are still blooming around… Well, truth is that there are not that many flowers in a big city BUT the ones that are around, are indeed blooming, like this white rose tree at our yard
and this pink-orange rose tree
Some days ago, during the first school run of the day, the very early one, we were walking together with Miss no 1 to the school bus stop. It’s a short 5 minutes walk, passing through some non-built land, something quite rare at our premises I must admit. The air was crisp, the sky was clear, I was enthusiastic and Miss no 1 quietly ignored my ahhh’s and ohhh’s. Many times she must be thinking that I’m weird I believe.
Waiting at the school bus stop, in the middle of a very urban -ugly- setting, I tried to capture the clearness of the sky and the beauty of the air around; I know, I know it’s never feasible…believe me, though so very urban, it smelt and felt like the most beautiful countryside, wood burning and fluffy clouds, know that smell?
On Sunday, together with a couple of friends, we set out for a brief tour at an archaeological site near Athens~ The sky was grey and the weather was cold, but the landscape was magical and the museum was a revelation of ancient beauty. Miss no 1 and 2 are never enthused by walking into wet and damp sites and were a bit grumpy, but soon started wandering around and stopped complaining..
On our way back home, my aahhhs and ooohhhs were there again. This light, this magical light…
The very same afternoon, the house was quiet, Miss no 1 at her room preparing for English tests, Miss no 2 silently painting and me at the couch working some more rows on my corner to corner blanket.
I should have finished it by now, as Little Miss no 2 is waiting for it before Christmas, BUT I couldn’t resist crocheting some Christmas stuff ; I promise I’ll tell you about that soon.
Thanks for joining the sneak peak into my days- Really appreciate it
